  • Recognize the health sector's contribution to the Prevent agenda

2. Professional Responsibilities in Safeguarding:

  • Know own professional responsibilities regarding the safeguarding of adults, children, and young people at risk in Preventing Radicalisation training

3. Vulnerability Factors in Radicalisation:

  • Understand the vulnerability factors that can make individuals susceptible to radicalisation or a risk to others

4. Reporting Concerns and Seeking Advice:

  • Know who to contact and where to seek advice if there are concerns about an individual being groomed into terrorist activity

5. Recognition of Potential Indicators of Risk:

  • Be able to recognize potential indicators of risk related to individuals being radicalized

6. Impact of Direct and Indirect Factors:

  • Understand the impact of direct (bullying, befriending, influencing) and indirect (internet, media, etc.) factors on individuals and how they might change thoughts and behaviors

7. Raising and Acting on Concerns:

  • Raise concerns and take action when there are suspicions or concerns

8. Information Sharing:

  • Understand the importance of sharing information, including the consequences of failing to do so

9. Support and Redirecting Vulnerable Individuals:

  • Support and redirect vulnerable individuals at risk of being groomed into a terrorist-related activity

10. Safeguarding Through Referrals: - Share concerns, get advice, and make referrals to safeguard vulnerable individuals

11. Channel Multi-Agency Arrangements: - Understand and utilize Channel multi-agency arrangements to provide support and redirection to individuals at risk of radicalisation

12. Prevent in the Context of the Prevent Duty: - Understand Prevent in the context of the Prevent Duty and the concept of non-criminal space

13. Recognizing Influence and Understanding Polarisation: - Understand that radicalisation uses normal social processes and the "power of influence" - Recognize influence and understand the concepts of polarisation and the use of narratives and ideology

14. Awareness of Current Threat Level: - Understand the current threat level and that Prevent can be applied to all forms of terrorism, present or emerging

15. Understanding Vulnerability in the Context of Prevent: - Understand the term "vulnerable" in the context of Prevent and what vulnerabilities are exploited by terrorist groups

16. Professional Judgment in Assessing Behaviors: - Understand there is no single checklist or profile of a terrorist - Use professional judgment in assessing behaviors

17. Recognizing and Sharing Concerns: - Understand how to recognize and share concerns, seek support and advice, and make referrals within own organization and with other agencies where appropriate

18. Awareness of Relevant Policies and Procedures: - Be aware of "Building Partnerships, Staying Safe: The health sector contribution to HM Government’s Prevent Strategy: guidance for healthcare workers and their organizations" relevant policies, procedures, and systems for Prevent.
